Vietnam War-era veterans invited to receive commemorative pins at Redlands event

Redlands Daily Facts - 6/23/2021

Jun. 23—The Arrowhead Valley Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution invites Vietnam War-era veterans to its second drive-through presentation of Vietnam War veteran commemorative lapel pins.

The Arrowhead Valley chapter is presenting the national commemorative pins in partnership with the Redlands Veterans Dinner Committee and the Redlands Elks Lodge, according to a news release.

The drive-through event is 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, June 26, in the parking lot of the Redlands Elks Lodge, 663 New York St.

The pins are usually presented in an in-person ceremony, but the DAR chapter held its first drive-through presentation this April to follow coronavirus safety precautions.

Any veteran of the U.S. armed services who served between Nov. 1, 1955, and May 15, 1975, is eligible to receive the commemorative pin, regardless of location of service. Pre-registration is not required.
