MH/SA crisis hotline available during the holidays

Dec. 23—LENOIR — Although the holiday season is met with excitement and anticipation, it can also be stressful for anyone. According to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), "64% of people with mental illness report holidays make their conditions worse." RHA in Caldwell County provides mobile crisis mental health and substance abuse crisis services 24 hours day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Trained behavioral health professionals will be on-call during the holiday season to provide mental health and substance abuse crisis intervention and stabilization services to anyone, at any age. Trained behavioral professionals can provide confidential support over the phone, through zoom, or can make an in-home visit.

"It is important for all of us to take care of our mental health as well as physical health. We [RHA] want to help folks feel as well as possible." Tracey Irvine, Director of Operations.

RHA Health Services also offers a mental health and substance abuse walk in-clinic during regular business hours, Monday-Friday, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The walk-in clinic will be closed Dec. 21, 22, and 23 for the holidays; it will reopen on Monday, Dec. 24.
