Political notebook: Area veterans named to GOP candidate's campaign coalition

Keene Sentinel - 10/11/2018

Oct. 11--Eleven area residents are among more than 130 members of congressional candidate Steven Negron's Veterans and Military Families for New Hampshire Coalition, according to a news release from his campaign.

Negron, a Republican state representative from Nashua, is a retired U.S. Air Force major, and his wife, Theresa, is a retired Air Force colonel, the release says.

He's hoping to unseat U.S. Rep. Ann M. Kuster, a Hopkinton Democrat, in New Hampshire's 2nd Congressional District, which includes the whole Monadnock Region. Also in the race is Nashua Libertarian Justin O'Donnell. The election is Nov. 6.

"It is a true honor to have these wonderful patriots from our military campaigning on my behalf," Negron said in the release announcing the coalition. "The 'Veterans and Military Families for New Hampshire Coalition' was formed to address Washington'sVA accountability paralysis and Congresswoman Ann Kuster's continued obstacle to true reforms and real choice for veterans."

Local residents listed as coalition members are: Art Bingham of Keene (Army); James Biensinger of Dublin (Navy); Jerry Branch of Dublin (Army); Edward Bryans of Marlborough (Navy); Cheshire County Commissioner Joseph Cartwright of Alstead (Air Force); David Elliot of Greenfield (Navy); Alan Huston of Keene (Marines); N.H. Rep. James W. McConnell, R-Swanzey, (Army); N.H. Rep. John O'Day, R-Rindge, (Army); Leo Pecente of Dublin (Army); and N.H. Rep. Franklin W. Sterling Jr., R-Jaffrey (Army).
