If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, you may call the Lehigh County Crisis Intervention office 24 hours a day, 7 days per week at (610) 782-3127. In Northampton County, call (610) 252-9060. If your emergency is life-threatening, you can call '911' or go to the nearest emergency room. At Lehigh County Crisis Intervention, your call will be answered by a crisis counselor who is trained to assess the level of need via a telephone interview. Crisis Intervention counselors offer assessments and counseling to children and adults who are experiencing a mental health crisis. This can include people suffering from depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, stress, and family crisis as well as those who are suicidal, or who are family members of trauma victims. The counselors provide assessments and referrals to appropriate resources in the community. When appropriate, the phone worker can arrange for a mobile crisis team to respond to your location to provide assistance with a range of services including: assessments; supportive counseling; information and referrals; linkage with appropriate community based mental health services for ongoing treatment and follow up; arranging transportation of individuals to emergency rooms if further psychiatric and/or medical assessment and care is indicated. Crisis counselors are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM for individuals to 'walk-in' for emergency intervention in the Crisis Intervention office located in the Lehigh County Government Center, 17 S. 7th St., Allentown.

I have had to deal with this crisis department. They have been rude to me and not helpful. I have asked for help and have been told that my problem was not a crisis. I will never reach out to them again! I think that some of the people that work there should be mandated to go to sensitivity trainings and crisis trainings to perform their duties better!

Called crisis for help. They were not helpful and seemed not interested in dealing with my problem., They acted like my call was a crisis situation. Will never use them again.
